Some campers associate fall with a very sad time – time to close the motorhome or trailer for winter. However, this doesn’t have to be the case. Outdoor Travel is here to let you know that there are many benefits of camping in the fall season that you may not know about. So, what are you waiting for? Repack your motorhome or travel trailer for a couple more fun-filled weekends of RVing!
The most obvious turn-off for camping in the fall is the cooler weather. Although some activities, like swimming, may not be a possibility in the fall, we are still getting sunshine during the day time. This allows for days filled with hiking, exploring, fishing, biking or just sitting around enjoying each other’s company. The cooler weather comes at night, but if you are prepared and pack warm hoodies, coats and pants, cuddling up into your warm sleeping bag or in your RV at night is pretty awesome!
Camping in the fall can become very picturesque with the leaves changing colours. It is a great opportunity to appreciate the woods and wildlife around you, not to mention it makes a great backdrop for photos! With fewer campers on the campgrounds in comparison with the summer, fall may even offer better opportunities to spot some wildlife, like deer, chipmunks, squirrels, or snakes!
